At MoveLab, we’ve always focused on building software that enhances real-world fitness experiences. Now, we’re taking the next step with the launch of MoveLab Connect AI, an extension of our MoveLab Connect platform.
This is not just about adding AI functionalities. It allows us to develop agentic capabilities for fitness environments that can actively interpret data, generate insights, and support both users and trainers in a meaningful way.
What is MoveLab Connect AI?
MoveLab Connect AI is built as a dedicated extension within the MoveLab Connect ecosystem. It allows us to develop and deploy agents that have full access to the core building blocks and resources of the platform.
This includes for example:
Training plans
Exercise libraries
Member profiles
Historical workout data
By connecting these data points, MoveLab Connect AI enables applications that go beyond static features. Instead of simply displaying information, the platform can now act on it, creating more dynamic and personalised experiences.
For our partners, from gyms and studios to equipment manufacturers, MoveLab Connect AI opens the door to a new category of product experiences.
The applications of MoveLab Connect AI range from simple to advanced:
Personalised greetings based on user history
Automated training plan generation
Conversational interfaces that respond to workout data
Insights based on long-term performance trends
Because it’s built within MoveLab Connect, these features integrate naturally into existing products, maintaining a consistent user experience while adding significant value.
Launching with NOHRD
We’re launching MoveLab Connect AI in collaboration with NOHRD, introducing a new commercial kiosk experience. This kiosk is designed to generate personalised training plans on the spot, based on the equipment available in a specific environment, such as a hotel gym or boutique fitness space.
Instead of generic programs at a gym for example, users receive workouts tailored to:
The machines and equipment in front of them
Their personal profile and goals (when available)
This is a practical example of how AI can enhance accessibility in fitness. Whether someone is traveling or using an unfamiliar gym, they can immediately start a structured, relevant workout for them.
AI in fitness
The hype around LLMs has been significant, and we are only now starting to understand where this technology is truly beneficial. In fitness, this needs to be seen in the right context. Training remains a human and physical activity, and trainers continue to play a crucial role in teaching proper technique and understanding how someone feels on a given day.
However, LLMs can add value by providing more human-like, context-aware insights. They can support trainers in improving the quality of their services while reducing the overhead of analysing large amounts of data themselves.
Another area where AI can help is in combining multiple data sources into a single piece of advice, something that can be challenging and time-consuming for trainers. At the same time, this interpretation should always be approached carefully, with human judgement remaining an important part of the process.
Building the future of connected fitness
With MoveLab Connect AI, we’re laying the foundation for a new generation of fitness software, one that is more adaptive, more personalised, and more context-aware. By embedding AI directly into our platform, we enable our partners to innovate faster and deliver better experiences without compromising on quality or control.
If you’re interested in exploring how MoveLab Connect AI can enhance your product or platform, we’d love to connect.
