Neil is an online rowing coach dedicated to helping athletes maintain good health, refine their rowing technique, and reach their full potential. With tailored training plans and individual support, he helps athletes maximize results in the shortest time possible.
When Neil first approached MoveLab, he had already developed apps for the Concept2 ecosystem, supporting athletes worldwide with features like video analysis that overlaid a force curve on rowing footage. However, the overlay only updated at the end of each stroke, which limited the immediacy of his feedback. At the same time, more and more of his clients were training on RP3, but he hadn’t yet explored its proprietary API’s. As one of the pillars of his coaching was video analysis, Neil wanted to find a solution that could provide real-time feedback and sharper insights into technique.
His main challenge was integrating the RP3 into his app to deliver a real-time force curve overlay. This would allow him to pinpoint exactly where inefficiencies occurred during the stroke and give his athletes more actionable, stroke-by-stroke guidance.
Together with MoveLab, Neil integrated the RP3 through the MoveLab Connect Connections Library. Within a short time, he had a working prototype running in his app that provided a true real-time force curve overlay. This gave his athletes immediate feedback on their rowing technique and represented a significant step forward in rowing technology.
Looking ahead, Neil plans to build on this foundation by creating a real-time coaching platform and integrating RowPerfect data into structured training plans.
